Well Done

By this point in the term our resource is growing, with over twenty students in the class there will now be at least 20 examples for each element and principle of design.

Shapes

shapes are made from lines which are two overlapping areas of design. with this idea in mind students are asked this week to find 2 elements of shapes and post them as comments to the comment space.

Texture

This week in class you will be given examples of texture to help inspire you to create your own textures in design.

Robyn McCarthy Describes texture as:

- Adds interest and excitement.
-Indicates to the viewer what to expect.
- Texture doesn’t have to be rough; it could be soft, or glossy...
- Textures can be visual or tactile .

Can you post 1 example of texture each to the comment space.  this could be carpet, paint...

For EXAMPLE wicker baskets have a wicker texture

What is Design?

Each student must come up with their own definition of design this week. no reposting or comments will be required.

Colour Wheels

This week please view the following video and use your knowledge to create 3 colour wheels Primary, Secondary and Tertiary. please use the Cameras in Class to upload pictures of yourself creating the wheels and of the final products. students should also make comments on the key points to the Scott Naismith video that is also posted. happy Painting :)

Lines

Lines are an essential part of design and are essential element in creating shape, with the classroom lesson time please find 6 images that show elements of lines in design, upload them to the blog and also comment on one other persons pictures of lines about relevance and the idea of the design.
